In areas of poverty, gender, disease, poor schools and the pressure to work limit children’s opportunities to learn.

Your support enables PestalozziWorld to select the brightest children, at least two girls for each boy, house them in nurturing residential villages, provide them with exceptional pastoral care and the education their potential deserves.

Our Work in India

Dehradun, India

Located in the foothill of the Himalayas, since 2004 the Indian city of Dehradun is home to PestalozziWorld’s Indian Village.

It is a home away from home for 90 girls and 48 boys. About one-third of its children are Indian, one-third are from Nepal, and the families of the other third are Tibetan refugees.

Dehradun is also home to a number of high-quality secondary schools which are pleased to enroll PestalozziWorld students. Every morning, the children travel to these schools by bus.

After they return from their secondary schools, they play basketball, volleyball, or football and to tend to their organic garden, help prepare food, do laundry, continue projects of needlework, carpentry, or the cleaning and maintaining of their facilities.

Many children in the Village are also singing in a choir and taking music lessons, thanks to the Royal Over-Seas League. Tutors come to the village in the evening to help students with school work.

Our Work in Zambia

Lusaka, Zambia

The Pestalozzi World Zambian Village has been operating on two sites in Lusaka, Zambia, for more than a decade.

About two-thirds of the children selected for the programme come from rural villages from all provinces of Zambia; and about one-third of the students are from refugee camps and neighbouring countries including Malawi, Angola, Burundi, Congo, and Rwanda.

Our students start their journey with Pestalozzi World in Kasisi, on the outskirts of Lusaka. Here they spend their first two years learning the Pestalozzi World way.

After two years, they then become students of the Zambian Village in Ibex Hill, also in Lusaka. They all study at an excellent partner private school, which is only a few steps away from the Village.

After the school day has ended, they play sports on the field they share with the school and return to the Village to tend to their large organic garden. They also help prepare food, clean and maintain the facilities.

Because of a shortage of high-quality education options in Lusaka, Pestalozzi World launched a school next to its Village. Most of the children must travel by car or bus for 3-12 hours when they go home on school holidays.

Our Work in Nepal

Pokhara, Nepal

The PestalozziWorld Village in Pokhara, Nepal is the newest Village. Launched in 2016, this growing Village now serves 37 students, recruited from 11 rural villages across Nepal.

It is located in Nepal’s second-largest city, Pokhara, which is is home to seven schools in which PestalozziWorld scholars are enrolled.

At the Village, all aspects of administration, teaching, and skills are carried out by PestalozziWorld alumni who graduated from our programme.

In addition to school attendance each weekday, Village residents do carpentry, gardening, pickle-making and community service in the form of neighbourhood cleaning.

I believe that every design is personal. The connection we have with clients determines how the projects will look at the end of the design process. We must understand the clients and bond with them, be a part of their dream. Their dream is our dream.
