‘They say a dream can never be achieved till done,
But I say it could not be this present Pestalozzi Zambia,
If not for JAF Foundation.
Born in a society full of challenges,
With kids our age that can’t write a passage but rather run into marriage
Although with no courage,
Ouch!! Sad, right?
But see, our stories have been stimulated or rather manipulated
Into something rated unstoppable because books are now more visible.
Our hands are able to stretch and write through a page,
Or maybe, read a book with less difficulties,
Because of these granted opportunities.
Nothing can stop our hearts from thanking,
Or maybe our heads from thinking,
Cause every step we take has just taught us
How promising our future has become.
As they say the only way to pay back is by working hard,
Cause to us,
You stand out among the best,
Helping us have books as a tool to learn,
With each breath, a new page to turn.
We appreciate JAF Foundation,
Guess, It now part of our souls,
Overwhelming us from above,
Forever, with your boundless love.’
Today marks #CreativityandInnovationDay, recognised by the @UnitedNations as an opportunity to generate new ideas and to think creatively to address challenges such as poverty and inequality.
In light of a recent donation by our supporters, the JAF Foundation, who generously upgraded our library facilities and stock, our children got creative to show their appreciation for this incredible gift and all their new books...
Our Zambian student, Ireen, 16, and in grade 11, wrote and delivered this incredible poem for this special occasion.
